Joanna Rae
Research Manager
Joanna’s key role is in the development and day-to-day running of the company's societal research programmes. Her main priorities are to liaise with partners and ensure their objectives and requirements are met. Joanna is also responsible for coming up with innovative ideas and discussion papers to stimulate debate around core research topics.
She oversees the dissemination process and keeps abreast of the latest developments relevant to the research programmes.
Having 4 years experience as a researcher in factual programming for the BBC, she has an instinctive approach to research, which is both thorough and intuitive. Her skills have developed partly through the nature of the broadcast industry - meeting rigorous deadlines, pedantic fact checking, and the need for excellent communication and organisation skills – but also through academic studies.
Joanna completed a History and Philosophy degree at St Andrews, and went on to complete a Masters in Broadcast Journalism. She is currently studying (distance learning) for an LLB. As well as managing research, Joanna is part of the team developing tools and processes emerging from the company’s main research projects.
