Active Ageing

Now that we live longer, and there are more years of relative wellness, what will we do with that longevity dividend? The implications of ageing on the workplace, and on collective wellness and mobility are fundamental to our economic wellbeing. New scenarios are emerging, where the elderly are more demanding; where suppliers have to innovate new methods of service delivery; and where new market opportunities flourish for those who are prepared to embrace new technology and new ways of working.

In 2005 BusinessLab began the process of exploring the implications of global demographic change, and, more specifically, the opportunities that it might present through the innovative application of ICT. Close collaboration with Professor Joseph Coughlin, the world-renowned expert on ageing and technology, the ActiveAge Programme was born.

The ActiveAge team is hosting the programme's first Summit on November 1st, 2007. Please see the ActiveAge Summit page for full details.
