ActiveAge and its partners will host the first ever ActiveAge Summit on 1st November 2007 in Newcastle's Civic Centre. The event will showcase the work being done around the world and discuss the critical issues for the application of ICT to sustain the quality of life for an ageing society.

The Summit will run between 9am and 4:30pm on Thursday November 1st. It will be attended by strategic decision makers from across the public and private sectors, responsible for making key decisions with regards to the setting of policy, service delivery and the development of next generation solutions.

The event will focus on Wellbeing - one of the four ActiveAge themes - and in particular on the technologies, strategies and business models required to deliver effective and sustainable telehealth, telemedicine, and telecare solutions for the elderly.

The keynote speaker is Professor Joseph Coughlin, Founding Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab. Joe will be supported by an array of specialists involved in developing and deploying innovative solutions in the field of telehealth and telecare.
