Organisational Learning
The organisation that can learn is the organisation that can change
Profitability and cost-effective service delivery demands the capacity to acquire, share and utilise knowledge, but most importantly, the capacity to continuously and permanently assimilate learning into its processes and structures. Critically, in this position an organisation is capable of not simply being equipped to react but to be proactive in driving change and thus mitigating against risks.
Learning in terms of training, knowledge acquisition and information sharing is happening at all points and levels within an organisation. Yet the effectiveness of the learning can vary across the organisation, depending on the resources and support available and the attitudes and values placed on learning.
BusinessLab's international collaborative Corporate Learning Environments project identified 36 key elements that relate to the development and delivery of organisational learning strategies, thus providing organisations with the mechanism to evaluate and monitor the effectiveness and relevancy of its learning as a critical contributor to efficiency. The Corporate Learning Signature is the BusinessLab tool that provides this mechanism to organisations.
