The Norreys Community in Wokingham BusinessLab are working with Wokinham Borough Council and Capgemini to deliver a unique community engagement programme in the Norreys Ward. The project is part of a partnership initiative which will use the BusinessLab Community Signature to identify the strengths and challenges within the Borough’s most disadvantaged areas according to the National Indices of Multiple Deprivation findings from 2007. The project involves working closely with a wide range of groups in the community, not simply in the gathering of the data, but using their expertise to help develop solutions to identified problems. Bringing together the community, key service providers and other stakeholders to share ownership of the Community Signature process and outcomes in this way is proving a valuable way to address community challenges and deliver positive outcomes for local people.
