Wellbeing

Wellbeing goes beyond good health. It encompasses a spectrum ranging from protective care through to an independent active lifestyle. The market opportunity not only touches each point on such a spectrum, but also opens up the potential for managing wellness across and throughout the spectrum.

While illness and infirmity in older age is something of an inevitable, the 'Boomers' will look to firstly prolong their active age and then to maximise continued independence. New ways of prolonging activity, new ways of managing health and new ways of accommodating infirmity will be required, and all set inside the known of an increasing number of the elderly. Technology is already being tried and tested in the area of wellness management and delivery, yet much remains to be done in adapting the technologies to the needs of the elderly.

For more information about the programme's ongoing research activity in this or any of the other theme areas, please see the latest newsletters or contact the ActiveAge Team.
